Purchasing Buyer

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Indirect Purchasing Buyer supports the Conyers manufacturing facility by processing indirect purchase requisitions, ensuring proper documentation, accurate expense coding, and timely communication with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. This role plays a key part in maintaining purchasing accuracy, cost control, and operational continuity.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Process indirect purchase requisitions by verifying supporting documentation, quotes, and correct expense coding prior to entry into the purchasing system
• Create and issue purchase orders to external suppliers after required system approvals are obtained
• Generate and maintain open purchase order reports and follow up with internal requesters to track expected receipt dates
• Maintain and update the expense coding cheat sheet to ensure accurate and consistent purchasing classifications
• Partner with Global Strategic Sourcing to submit new vendor request forms and support supplier setup in the accounting system
• Support the Conyers manufacturing facility with other related purchasing and administrative duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related business function
• Working knowledge of purchasing concepts and techniques
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general comfort working within accounting or ERP systems
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to communicate effectively with external suppliers and internal business partners
• Demonstrated ability to identify discrepancies or issues and drive timely resolution
• Commitment to working in accordance with Golden State Foods’ values and code of conduct

THE SCHEDULE & SETTING

• Full-time, on-site role supporting the Conyers manufacturing facility

• Standard business hours; may require flexibility to support operational needs
